Blue Saturn Recruiting has been retained by a fast-growing personal injury firm seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join their dedicated litigation department.
About the Opportunity
Our client is a thriving plaintiff-side personal injury firm expanding their litigation capabilities across South Carolina and North Carolina. They are building a specialized litigation department and need an experienced paralegal who can provide comprehensive litigation support from case filing through trial.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on litigation role where you'll be instrumental in developing the firm's litigation department infrastructure. You'll work directly with attorneys on complex personal injury cases, managing all aspects of litigation support including trial preparation, discovery, and court filings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage litigation files from complaint through trial
- Coordinate and prepare for depositions
- Draft, file, and serve legal documents and pleadings
- Conduct legal research and factual investigation
- Organize and maintain litigation files and case management systems
- Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and demonstrative evidence
- Coordinate with expert witnesses and medical providers
- Calendar and track all litigation deadlines and court appearances
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Assist with discovery requests, responses, and document production
- Support attorneys during mediations and trials
Qualifications
Required:
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of litigation experience in a law firm setting
- Personal injury experience strongly preferred (plaintiff-side)
- Proficiency with case management software
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure and litigation processes
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with trial preparation and trial support
- Familiarity with South Carolina and/or North Carolina court systems
- Knowledge of medical records and terminology
- Experience coordinating expert witnesses
Work Environment
- Primarily on-site (five days per week) to start
